Dror Shvadron

I am an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. I completed my PhD in Strategy at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

I study the production and commercialization of scientific knowledge across the innovation ecosystem. My research traces the complete pipeline from the training of scientists and their funding sources, through their career paths in academia and industry, to the ultimate translation of discoveries into commercial applications. I explore how market forces, firm strategies, and academic institutions interact to shape the trajectory of scientific research, examining both the incentives that drive innovation and the mechanisms that determine which scientific advances reach the marketplace.

New! NBER Working Paper on the “Funding the U.S. Scientific Training Ecosystem: New Data, Methods, and Evidence” is now available. Summary available here.
